Political system
Politics, Political Systems and “ism” Conspiracy: the Religious Perspective (By Irfan Raza)
We live in a world in which politics has replaced philosophy. Martin L. Gross, A Call for Revolution, 1993.
Understanding politics and political system is as important as any other thing in the world. Considering politics as philosophy, we need to look into the spirit of the prevailing concepts of political systems and models. As business students we know the important of PESTEL analysis, and P of this analysis is the most important part of it.
There are so many political systems prevailing in the world. We have learn so many system by the passage of time but unfortunately we didn’t try our own system which may be a combination of these prevailing systems and also have the tendency to be the part of our society. That system must have the capability to match our cultural, social and religious needs. As we know all systems which come from west have some drawbacks and also some good features. But overall these systems are not for us, people living in eastern part of the world. The reason is that we have our priorities and our social setup. The systems devised by the west are designed specifically for their interests and needs. So belonging from different societies our priorities are different as well needs. So I name those systems the “ism conspiracy” like socialism, communism, imperialism, colonialism, etc.
Apart from these political systems we are taking so many other things from west, which again not only against our norms and values but also didn’t fulfill our need. This need may be cultural, religious or geographical. It comes under that “ism conspiracy” like when we talk about professionalism, collectivism, individualism etc. We are not fond of these “isms” 60 years before. But west had introduced these isms and compel us as a wholes society to follow them. We can see that every after five to ten year we have another terminology and we all rushing towards it, like terrorism is latest terminology which is used widely now a days. You can observe that ten years ago that word was “freedom fighter” and now it replaces with the term “terrorism”. So it’s a western interest to manipulate these things in a way which may be helpful for them to achieve their set targets and protect their interest.
So many social and political analysts believe that there is no perfect representation of any political system. They are all more or less overlapping each other and it is happening more frequently in these days, especially after 9/11. We need to understand these systems and devise the most appropriate system for our country which not only suites our culture but also helps in resolving the present problems like terrorism and insurgency.
Now question arises that how we have tackled this situation. In my opinion there is only one way out and that is to make our own system which not only suits us but also fulfill our needs. It may a combination of two or three prevailing systems or we may have entirely new system which is unique and inimitable. This will happen only when we go for revolution. History proves that revolution always raised by the youth of the nation. I am very hopeful that one day we will able to live with up heads and dignity. Despite of the fact that we have so many culprits and corrupt people around us, but we must keep our hope to see that bright day.
We know that for revolution or to influence the masses we need to learn how to purify ourselves from all evils and negative things. If we are successful in purifying ourselves, whole society will get benefit and collectively we can sort out so many things. Concentrate on self audit and will make possible to rectify all social evils. Also we can deal with political, legal and legislative issues.
To become a revolutionary, internal audit is the most important thing to do. One should be very keen about making himherself credible enough to become a role model for others. But for that we need to rectify all those fault in ourselves which may become a hurdle in the way of prosperity. There are some problems highlighted as follows;
• We don’t want to listen anything which is against our perception.
• We think that what we are doing is right and other is wrong.
• We try to defend ourselves, even when we are doing wrong. But we don’t bother other’s point of view.
• We have no courage to say anything, which is wrong.
• Pointing finger on someone is easy and we are doing this very ardently
Like during presentation I asked people to work as volunteer, one fellow among us asked me whether I am working as volunteer or not. This negative attitude and unenthusiastic behavior is totally wrong. Being a Muslim we all know that what we supposed to do. Asking this kind of question means that we are not ready to accept things. Although there are so many other people who were taking this thing very positive and they are hope for the better future of Pakistan.
What we have learnt from our experience is that our nation is moving in the wrong direction because we don’t have capable leadership. We have no direction and whole nation is moving haphazardly. But one thing is clear that revolution is the only way to bring change and make things as per own need and will. INSHALLAH we will see that bright day which always comes after every dark night.
