Pakistan strongly reacting to a statement issues by president Obama regarding drone strikes, said that these insurgencies are unlawful, counterproductive, and a violation of its sovereign values. Earlier answering to a question during a press conference Obama acknowledged that “they have carried out drone attacks in Pakistan as a military strategy to combat terrorism”.
Relations between the two countries are at its lowest level, since the attack of NATO forces on Pakistan’s military check post killing 24 soldiers. Trust deficit, communication gap, and lack of cooperation among the military forces fighting war on terror on both sides of the border lead to failure. Pakistan military’s sacrifices and support in the war on terror has always been undermined and disregarded by US.
Experts say that drone attacks are stimulating public sentiment against America and only killing innocent civilians. Imran Khan, the leader of strongly emerging political power in Pakistan said, “There is no military solution of this war, it has to won by political means and dialogue”. Governance News Reported
